Our Optometrists

SooJin Nam
B.Optom (UNSW), exec MBA (AGSM)
Special Interests: Behavioural optometry and myopia control

SooJin graduated with her B.Optom at UNSW in 1999 and is a member of the Optometrists Association Australia, the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists and the Orthokeratology Society of Australia.

SooJin is a clinic supervisor at the School of Optometry (UNSW). SooJin has a special interest in children's vision, myopia control and learning difficulties (in particular, the impact vision has on learning and concentration). She enjoys helping people to develop better vision in order to improve their ability to study, work and play!

SooJin participated in the Rotary Group Study Exchange to Indiana as part of the centenary team in 2004. SooJin was recently a volunteer Provision optometrist (in association with ICEE and RACS) for an eyecare service delivery trip to East Timor.

She has also previously been named Young Australian of the Year for community services rendered by her local Council.

Grace Wee
B.Optom (UNSW) M. Optom (UNSW)
Special Interests: Behavioural optometry

Grace has graduated with a Bachelor of Optometry (Hons) in 2005 and with a Master of Optometry in 2009. She has also travelled to London to complete her preceptorship in the Institute of Optometry.

From her Masters, Grace has developed a keen interest in Children\'s vision and Specialty contact lenses. Grace is also a current member of Optometrist Association Australia and the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists.

Ali Khalife
B. Optom (UNSW) B. Med Science (UTS)
Ali completed his optometry degree from the University of New South Wales in 2007 and is a member of the Optometrists Association Australia and the Contact lens Society. He performed his preceptorship in a private clinic in Hobart, Tasmania where he gained further experience in providing primary eye care services to the general public, improved his clinical skills and was involved in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of patients with corneal disease, glaucoma, diabetes and macular degeneration. Ali has also completed a medical science degree before his Bachelor of optometry specializing in pharmacology, toxicology and molecular biology, which has enriched his knowledge and helped tremendously in understanding the principles behind various optometric and ophthalmologic therapy.

Rebecca Milston
B.Optom (UNSW)
Rebecca Milston graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2008 and is a member of the Optometrists Association of Australia.

In her final year of study Rebecca completed her preceptorship at the Omni Eye Care Clinic in New York City, an ophthalmology clinic specializing in ocular disease. Here she was given the opportunity to work with highly experienced specialists and was exposed to a wide range of ocular pathologies including advanced glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. She is currently completing her diploma of ocular therapeutics which which will allow her to prescribe a range of eye medications.

Our Services

Eyecare Plus Bankstown provides services in the area of Vision Therapy, with an emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of vision based learning disorders in school aged children.

We apply a developmental approach to vision to detect and correct hidden vision conditions or problems that may affect behaviour, may cause learning problems or difficulties in school or performance at work and sports.
