Latest Technology
We take eye health seriously. Recently we have invested in a High Definition Ocular Coherence Tomographer (HD-OCT) which, by ultrasound, analyses and records macula and optic nerve head (eg. Glaucoma) conditions. This is currently the only HD Tomographer owned optometrically in Newcastle!
Our new HD-OCT is in addition to the digital fundus imaging photographs the retina, which is excellent for monitoring diabetic progression and general retina health.

Our History
Paul Dougherty Optometrist has been practicing optometry in Charlestown Square for almost 30 years.
We provide comprehensive eye examinations including automated fields, glaucoma assessment and behavioural children's evaluation. We also prescribe and dispense contact lenses (including coloured and multifocal) and are equipped to record digital imaging of the eye.
As a locally owned practice, we aim to provide quality personalised service and a great range of over 1000 frames for your selection. We have an on-site lab and stock a large range of single vision lenses for urgent jobs.
Our Location
Charlestown Square offers approximately 3,500 car parks for your convenience and we are wheelchair accessible.
Best parking for our level is the Southern Car Park which can be accessed from Canberra and Frederick Streets (Bowling Club side).
