Melbourne optometrist, Eyecare Plus Mitcham are leaders in professional eye care since its inception in 1971. The practice began by Anne and Tony Gibson. Since then, our optical services have evolved and constantly up-to-date with the latest technology and a wide range of world-leading brands in spectacle frames, sunglasses for men and women and kid’s glasses.
We provide comprehensive Checkup Plus eye test that will take 30 to 45 minutes. Using leading-edge technology, our Mitcham optometrists can identify various eye conditions and prescribe proper treatment such as prescription contact lenses, safety glasses and prescription swimming goggles. Consultation fees
Medicare benefits are payable for most consultations. Some additional fees apply for services that are not yet covered by Medicare. Our staff will be pleased to explain these fees.
Veterans Affairs
Spectacles and contact lenses are provided at no cost for patients covered by Veterans Affairs. Our staff will be pleased to advise you on your entitlement.
Spectacles for the Disadvantaged
Often there are people with a need for spectacles but who are not able to afford the cost, or part of it. Some state governments provide limited assistance for people in need. Please talk to our staff and they will be pleased to explain the eligibility requirements and how to make an application.

Being situated just outside of the bustling shopping centre, the practice is located near various amenities including Halliday Park, Coles, Domino’s, Anytime Fitness and much more.
We are a short 3 minutes walk from the main Mitcham Shopping Centre across Victoria Avenue.
There is plenty of street car parking on Victoria Avenue and Harrison Street. We offer an on-site car park for our customers which can be accessed via Mitcham Road travelling North.
For those that are travelling by public transport, the bus routes for 171, 190, 196F and 300 all have stops that are within walking proximity to our distinguished practice. Alternatively, the store can be reached by an 8-minute stroll from the Mitcham train station.
Checkup Plus™ is more than just an eye test. Our optometrists take the time needed to give you a thorough eye examination. Following your Checkup Plus™ we will carefully explain the results and discuss our recommendations regarding any preventative or remedial care required.
