Calvin Leung

I’m Calvin. I’m working on building the product that most companies don’t really want to touch.

ooptify is about making optometry practices easier to run, more efficient, and honestly, more enjoyable.

I started my career in med-tech at Medicare, helping the government bring healthcare claiming online, then spent a long stretch in the coffee business and consulting with international firms before coming back to software.

Now I’m focused on building tools for independent optometrists that actually reflect how practices work day to day.

Dr. Louise Mahler

Dr Louise Mahler is a leadership communication scholar, a speaker, coach and best-selling author. Who works with the skills of Gravitas to help leaders – from early stage entrepreneurs to international C-suite and board executives – achieve dramatic and measurable change.

Having worked and spoken with thousands of leaders live in Europe, America, China and the Pacific, she has spoken with audiences from small leadership teams to a massive 15,000 corporate events. Mahler’s clients include Gartner, Salesforce, BHP, Transdev, MDRT, NAB, IIA, Adobe and the Chief Executive Women.

For the last three years, she has been voted a top expert in Communication globally, has won two Stevie Awards as well as the highly coveted ‘Speaker of the Year’ Title in Australia and been recognised by IBMs as one of 50 top thinkers.

This all began when, moving from the Vienna State Opera back to Australia, Louise observed a ‘missing ingredient’ in corporate leadership which she has built into the algorithms of communication in high stake engagement.

Therese Tarlinton

Therese Tarlinton is a global marketing expert, bestselling author, keynote speaker and the original Brand Matchmaker. She has created high-impact collaborations with world-class brands like Jeep, Sesame Street, United Colors of Benetton, and TV’s The Block, as well as mentoring hundreds of businesses through partnership and content strategy.

She built her own multimillion-dollar company across five countries and is the author of the triple gold medal-winning book SWAP: Marketing Without Money. Her soon-to-be-released follow-up, SWIPE, reimagines marketing through the lens of modern dating — teaching brands how to attract aligned partners and create content-rich, credibility-building collaborations.

Therese is a sought-after speaker and has received over 250 five-star Google reviews from business owners who have used her methods to drive real results. She brings a fresh, feminine and strategic voice to the stage — blending humour, heart and high-level insight in a way that resonates with corporate audiences and creative minds alike.

Isobel Bishop

Isobel Bishop is a distinguished former Olympic water polo player, having represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Olympics. With a strong foundation in both sports and design, Isobel combines her competitive spirit with a creative professional career. She holds a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design from the University of Technology Sydney.

Her current role as Creative and Marketing Manager at Marketing Plus, has enabled her to merge her passion for design with a keen understanding of strategic marketing. With over five years of experience in marketing within the optical sector, she brings a wealth of knowledge, from local area marketing to multi-channel national campaigns. Driving business growth through compelling visual storytelling and targeted marketing strategies.

Philip Rose

Born in Germany and residing in Australia since the age of 6, Philip now resides in Sydney. Having worked internationally, owned and operated his own businesses, with previous General Manager experience and over 14 years of experience in the optical industry, Philip brings a wealth of business knowledge and experience to the Eyecare Plus team. Philip is focused on helping independent optometry and the Eyecare Plus group, through this current period of rapid change in our industry.

CANCELLATIONS

Any room nights cancelled 30 days or less prior to arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee, on all nights held.

Check In and Check Out

Check in time is from 3.00pm onwards. Upon request, the hotel will do everything possible to accommodate early arrivals, subject to availability.

Check out time is 11.00am. Later departures up to 6.00pm are available subject to availability at an applicable hourly fee. Beyond 6.00pm, the full daily rate will be applicable.

Breakfast

One breakfast buffet is included with the room rate. Extra breakfast buffet is available at a reduced rate of $35.00 per person for in-house guests (normally $59.00) on consumption. Akoya Restaurant is open for breakfast between 6:30am – 10:30am.

Car Parking

Valet – $60 per day per vehicle

Self-parking in the hotel underground car park is currently available free of charge.

Enter the car park via Old Burleigh Road and press the button on the intercom, a team member will let you in. Proceed through the B1 gates to park
