About Us

Melbourne optometrist, Eyecare Plus Clifton Hill, offers comprehensive eye examinations, prescription sunglasses, spectacle frames, contact lenses and eye health care for the whole family.

Our practice is very much community based, relying largely on local networks and patient recommendations to grow. Through the years we have cultivated close relationships with local GPs and schools, something we believe is vital in a neighbourhood practice.

At Eyecare Plus Clifton Hill you can be assured of personalised service with our highly skilled team of professionals. We place a priority on high quality individual patient care, with thorough 45-minute consultations and continuity of care from our loyal optometrists.

Our optometrists are early adopters of new technologies to help in the detection of eye diseases, covering a wide range of special interests which include:

  • Comprehensive testing for eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataract
  • Dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction management
  • Corneal topography
  • The latest contact lens solutions and designs, including specialty contact lenses
  • Orthokeratology
  • Children’s vision and behavioural optometry
  • Myopia control
  • Prescriptions for eye medicines
  • Aviation eye examinations (Credentialed testing for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority)

With our wide range of top Australian and international frames and customised lenses using the newest technology, you will always know you will have the highest quality spectacles to suit your optical needs, your style and your budget.

Caring for locals since 1985

The Clifton Hill optometry practice opened in 1985, with Ian Breadon working from a single room immediately above the current premises. The practice expanded and moved downstairs to the existing premises in 1996. Jacqui Lui joined the practice in 2000 and in 2014 transitioned into ownership. In 2018, Thomas Luscher and Murray Smith joined Jacqui in partnership.

Eyecare Plus Clifton Hill belongs to the Eyecare Plus group, an Australia wide network of independent locally owned practices which are regularly accredited for adherence to high standards of clinical practice and procedures. Eyecare Plus Clifton Hill has maintained our 5-star accreditation rating, the highest possible that can be achieved.
