Our Focus - Helpful Knowledgeable Staff

Our team consists of Dale Rolfe, Elke Morrell and Melinda Fletcher along with Tanya, Christine, Karen, Leslie, Lyn and Donna.

Dale Rolfe is our full time Optometrist - he has been consulting for 23 years at this practice. Dale will give you a comprehensive eye examination including checking you for all eye diseases. He can also test the kid's eyes, give you advice on laser eye surgery and tell you all about the latest in contact lenses. Dale will be happy to see you for your routine check, or if you have any problems with your vision and eye health. Call now to book in the whole family. Consultations are bulk-billed to Medicare.

Elke Morrell is another of our full time optometrists. A Forster local, who has returned in the last few years to practice back home. Elke has a special interest in kid’s vision and diabetic management.

Melinda Fletcher is the latest full time optometrist to our team. Her inclusion to our team has allowed us to offer you immediate service, with long waiting lists a thing of the past. She has a special interest in contact lenses.

If you want durable - we have flexible titanium alloy frames that are as tough as you can get. If you want value for money - we can help you see clearly with a decent quality frame. If you want  glasses that are cheap and nasty - you will need to go elsewhere.

Our Focus - Latest Technology

We have some of the latest equipment - including a digital retina camera. The camera lets us take instant high resolution images of the inside of your eye. For the first time, you can see the back of your own eye! Our optometrists will explain if anything is wrong and tell you what you need to know. If everything is healthy, we will have your retina photo available as a baseline for next time - making early detection of eye disease even more accurate than ever before. If you have diabetes - this test is essential. If you have any family history of glaucoma - this test is essential. If you are over 40 and your vision is important to you - then this test is essential. This test is perfect for checking for macula degeneration. This technology is too new for a Medicare rebate, so there is a small fee of $39.

History

This practice is the original optometry practice in Forster. Established in 1955 it began its life as a satellite practice of the older Taree Practice (1942) servicing the Forster area one day a month.

It has now evolved into a full time practice and has made a number of relocations until it's current modern premises in Wharf St today.

We now have 6 staff members including Dale Rolfe, our full time optometrist who has been with us since 1986 and Tanya Megaw, our practice administrator who has been with us for more than 20 years.

Location

We are located at the bridge end of Wharf St Forster on the southern side closest to Breckenridge Channel. Parking can be found more easliy in Memorial Drive and a short 10m walk through Blows Lane or one of the arcades will find you in Wharf St.

We have access to wheelchairs and we have a disabled toilet. Even better facilities and access are available for the disabled at our Tuncurry Practice with disabled parking out the front.
